I grew up in the small town of Jerseyville, IL. (near St. Louis). I had always wanted to be a circus clown. I learned how to juggle, ride a unicycle, even do balloon animals. I quickly realized that the clowning profession doesn't pay very well. Upon graduating high school, I attended Union University in Jackson, TN for one year. The next year I transferred to Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, IA. I graduated in 2004 with an Elementary Education Degree. During my college years, I worked as the Program Director of Camp Manitoumi in Lowpoint, IL. After college graduation, I moved to actually live at Camp Manitoumi and substitute teach for 1 full school year. The next school year, I was hired full time at Hines Primary School in Peoria, IL. After that I moved to Washburn Middle School in Washburn, IL where I am currently teaching 6th grade. I consider myself one of those fun, crazy teachers, that's willing to try new things to get my students to love school again. I have developed a fake "smartboard" using Nintendo Wiimotes and infrared light. Because of this, I have been asked to present conferences to train other teachers in the use of it, as well as been given the opportunity to present it to a very large crowd at an edtech conference in Chicago this Spring. Also, this school year, I implemented a clicker program into my classroom, where every student is able to answer every question I ask.
From 2001 through 2010, I continued to work summers out at Camp Manitoumi and LOVED it! I did everything from hiring counselors, to running the daily program, to creating and building new camp items, to website design, to even researching at other camps across the country. I was very proud of my time out there. Many of the programs and activities that I created, are still being used each year. My wife, Carrie, even served several years out at camp doing various jobs.
Carrie and I married on October 16, 2010 and we currently live in Varna, IL. We have two children, Rowan Matthew and Emmalina Delle, and one brand new puppy, Serendipity. We keep very busy with our daily jobs as well as running our business theSycamoreTree.net . We both consider ourselves to be very crafty and have thus began selling some of our creations.
We are so excited for this summer. I cannot wait to get involved with ISR. After touring the campground, I am so pumped for how awesome this camp is. Since I have never been in scouting before, I am daily reading, researching, and learning about the Scouts. With the great staff that ISR has had for the past several years, I know that this summer will one that should not be missed. I can't wait to get started and I hope to see you out at Ingersoll Scout Reservation.

Nick is looking forward to seeing his staff rise to the top this summer and can't wait to see all of the new and returning campers at Ingersoll in 2012. He will be working hard to make sure that every camper walks away with the amazing experience that Ingersoll has provided for countless scouts in the past.
